Default I smell a set

Villian (CO) is 25/4/.4 over 50 hands or so. Button is aggressive.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Hero ($103)
CO ($91)
Button ($49)
SB ($22)
BB ($156.65)
UTG ($28)
UTG+1 ($80.65)
MP1 ($78.85)
MP2 ($40.50)

**EDIT - I am dealt AK

Preflop:
<font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $4</font>, CO calls $4, Button calls $4, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Flop: ($13.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
Hero checks, CO checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets $6</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $22</font>, CO calls $22, Button folds.

Somewhere in the back of my mind a warning bell goes off when this guy cold-calls my check raise.

Turn: ($63.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

What is my action now? I'm either W/A or W/B I think. $65 in the middle, Villian (CO) has about the same left.

Can I get away from this hand at this point?

Will post rest of hand after comments..

Does that include your hole cards? Based on your action I'm putting you on a strong ace, but I don't like a checkraise with it. You built a large pot with one pair OOP and defined yourself to holding a strong hand.

See how easy that was for me to figure out? Thats why we lead this flop and check the turn. It's a dry board. That's how you play it WA/WB

9 times out of 10 I lead this flop. It just so happens I didn't this time. I guess I was banking on Button betting, given his aggression.

As played, I am now in a difficult spot. How would you play this turn?

This is the trouble with checking the flop. Villain's actions on flop scream strength as there are no draws to call a bet and check-raise with. His original plan seemed to be giving a free turn in order to let somebody catch up a little.

Unless you have some note on this guy that he is wildly loose passive, I don't see what value you are going to get out of betting the turn. Check/fold.

Villain will have two pair or a set 90% of the time. You are either dead or drawing to 3 outs on the river.

It gets worse. The more I look at this the more I want to throw up.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Hero ($103)
CO ($91)
Button ($49)
SB ($22)
BB ($156.65)
UTG ($28)
UTG+1 ($80.65)
MP1 ($78.85)
MP2 ($40.50)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $4</font>, CO calls $4, Button calls $4, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Flop: ($13.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
Hero checks, CO checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets $6</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $22</font>, CO calls $22, Button folds.

Turn: ($63.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">CO bets $15</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $50</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $65</font>, Hero calls $15.

River: ($193.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

Final Pot: $193.50

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
Hero has Ac Ks (two pair, aces and twos).
CO has 8s 8h (full house, eights full of twos).
Outcome: CO wins $193.50. </font>

I guess the absolute best I can hope for is he overplayed AQ, but that's not very realistic.

I'm pretty much just giving my money away here.

What are you trying to acheive by raising the turn? Folding out weaker Aces? If you still want to see a showdown, then check/call turn and river. I still would have folded to his weak turn bet.

Oh no ( ), why would you check this particular flop to raise it when villain calls more than twice as much as he bets??? He probably has 2 pair or just a strong ace. Either way, point is you've put yourself in a terrible position on the turn. He may or may not (probably not given his stats) realize the strength you've exhibited. You have to decide which one that call means. I really think you're beat here however given his flop raise. C/F is probably the best play. He's passive, pray he checks behind both streets

Once you checked the flop you should call and then lead the turn for half pot. You will never get raised by AQ etc. there but you will get called.
