Default Top 2 facing all-in on the river.

Villian had been playing reasonable (not too good, not too bad) and I hadn't seen him pull something like this before.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) http://216.119.70.224/converter/hhconverter.pl

CO ($63.50)
Button ($94.70)
SB (Villian) ($109.17)
BB ($22.50)
Hero ($128.94)
MP ($65.80)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB (Villian) posts a blind of $0.50.
Hero raises to $4, 3 folds, SB (Villian) (poster) calls $3.50, 1 fold.

Flop: ($9) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Villian checks, Hero bets $9, Villian calls $9.

Turn: ($27) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Villian checks, Hero bets $20, Villian calls $20.

River: ($67) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Villian bets $76.17

Hero ?

Really depends on how the villian has been playing. My initial hunch was that he was bluffing, due to the extreme size of the bet(3x the pot). This is a tough situation though for me to comment on because i think the extremely large size of the bet(I'm mostly a .01/.02 player) is toying with my rationale and not allowing me to make the right move.

What do you put him on? I thought it was a straight line for him to take if he had a set or a straight, wouldn't they usually pop the turn? I had a hard time putting him on hand.

Or they could push the river. I've seen all manner of bizarre lines taken. I agree that this guy could have a busted flush draw, but to say he has it like 35% of the time seems to be stretching it.

With that said, he's been calling you all the way through. If he's not too good not too bad, I'm assuming he wouldn't call you heads up with a straight draw or flush draw or gutshot, etc. That said, I think he's got trips.

Yeah, I figured i should probably be folding here most of the time.

I just thought it was such a weird way to play a real hand so I called. He showed T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

I would not make it a habit of calling here too often. Its a questionable call when the obvious draws miss.
