to me this is an obvious check. if you bet and get called, there's a decent chance you're behind. but if you check you're inducing bets way more often than you would be getting called.

After reading this thread, I've been convinced checking is best.

I was playing this hand online, with a friend watching who plays mid/ high limit holdem real well. I checked the turn, the first limper bet and the second limper called so I folded and thought this line was by far the best line.

If there was 1 bet and 1 check or fold, then I was going to call the turn and decide on the river, leaning towards paying my opponent off.

As my friend was watching he immediatly took the opposite side saying it was such an easy obvious turn bet..you have the best hand, they will call with crap, you will be pissed if it gets checked thru, and on and on...

I am still not convinced one way or the other but I like my line of checking.

Bet. One time I asked the geeks in the probablility forum about the probablities of TP on flop, etc. It's not exatcly the same scenario here, but I'd bet and feel pretty confident I have the best hand. Until call or raised. Maybe that's my 6 max mentality showing through. Check/fold to a blank is awful, when you consider the hands that would stab at this pot.

In your case, a Q is just making a play now?

Flop - I bet the flop, people seem to be scared to death of paired boards and fold way too often IMO, I bet any 2 cards from the BB after a flop like this, HU or 3 handed.

Turn - Check-raise representing a ten, people fold top pair on paired boards a lot fearing they are going to have to pay 2 more big bets just to see that they were drawing to 2 outs.... AND if they were betting their KJ or J9 OESD, then you just charged them the max.

If the limpers are usually properly aggressive postflop then I agree with James282 that one of them has a ten.

I agree, but man, it would suck to have to call a bet on the river here.
