Default Stars 109 rebuys

Blinds 300-600 50 antes

chips avg 14k

Emptyseat88 and I both have 12k, folded to him on button and he pushes. We have played several pots so far, I escaped a trap of his with AA, came over the top and made him fold once, and won a small pot from him.

I have 88 here....

Have you seen him make any of these kinds of plays before, i.e. gigantic preflop raises?

From what I know, in logic anyways, is that these kinds of raises usually come from hands that do not want to see action on the flop. Hands like 55-99 or AK-AJ.

But, he could be trapping with something like AA or KK. This is purely mathematical based on the read you have on Scott and what ranges of hands he would pull a move like this with.

Thus is the first time he has bad an oversize rause like this.

I thought about it and decided to fold. Even though I was below chip average, I still had enough chips to play poker, and didnt want to put on tournement on a likely coin flip.
