Default My New Year\'s Resolution

Over the years, I've been a spoiled kid. My mom never taught me how to cook, and I never learned.

Cooking pasta, 'burgers, and microwaving is how I've survived and the obvious Chipotle. This crap is beginning to bore me and make me slightly pudgy. To combat this, I think I should learn how to cook.

If you can help by linking me to good receipes or reccomend a few cook books, I'd appreciate that.

good luck with all of your resolutions and Merry Christmas.

This is a good site.

I recommend the book The Professional Chef 7th edition. It will teach you techniques and basic cooking methods that you'll need to know in order to follow recipes well.

cooking is easy, it's the prep work and cleanup that is such a pain in the ass.

I find it to be pretty similar to any standard chemisty lab experiment. read through the directions until you understand them and practice. Once you get the techniques down you will no longer need exact recipes for everything, just keep experimenting.
