Default checking 2-pair 3 handed

Is it ever good to just check your 2 pair when it is down to 3 people. The flop came KJT and i had KJ so i checked and the turn is an A, the guy bets 400 and i go all in and it turns out he has the Q of course. But is it ever right to check the 2 pair when it is down to 3 people or shoudl you always just bet at it.

I would never do it when the flop is as coordinated as that flop was.

Whenever I get the urge to slowplay I ask myself "Is there any card on the turn that will hurt me" and it usually becomes pretty obvious that more than one card can hurt me. That is usually enough to convince me to stop with such nonsense.
