Default video card and resolution question

I'm looking for a videocard that can handle 2056 x 1536 resolution. However, all of the videocard reviews I've looked at don't mention any resolution capabilities.

How do I know what sort of videocard I need?

Default Re: video card and resolution question

I just checked the box from my 256MB nVidia geForce 6800GT, and it says max resolution is 2048x1536 @ 85Hz - is this the resolution you meant? These are not the cheapest of cards though, and I believe any card with 256MB should support this resolution on two monitors. A 128MB card should do this res also, but maybe only on one monitor. I may be mistaken about these memory requirements though, i'd rather be wrong than recommend an inadequate solution.

If you can view the packaging before purchase, almost all cards will specify max resolution somewhere on the box.

I hope this helps,

dave.
