Default going all in or calling all ins with 22.. is this ever correct

I've been going through some of the other forums and have seen the great deal of criticism that Erik Brenes has recieved where he went all in with 22 on last week's wpt show.
it seems everyone on 2+2 agrees that this hand shouldn't be played in these situations (unless your short stacked)

wandering what everyone here thinks on calling an all/or going all in with 22 in a shorthanded tournament situation. Does anyone think this is ever a correct strategy.

If you don't mind getting your money in the middle on whats most certainly at BEST a race, then by all means go ahead. He didn't want a call there for sure. I think his thoughts were backing him off the 400k raise and if he did call he;d be in a race. Turns out he was a huge dog and got very lucky.
