Default I got owned

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG (60vpip16pfr) calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls, UTG (60vpip16pfr) calls.

Flop: (6.40 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, 60vpip16pfr checks, Hero bets, BB folds, 60vpip16pfr calls.

Turn: (4.20 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
60vpip16pfr checks, Hero checks.

I didn't feel like getting check-raised, so I checked behind and figured this has the upside that he will lead the river with air, or get me a showdown cheap.

River: (4.20 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
60vpip16pfr checks, Hero bets, 60vpip16pfr raises, Hero calls.

When he doesn't lead despite me checking the turn, I value bet hoping he has a 9, a J, or some tiny pocket pair he will feel compelled to call down with. When he raises me, I fail to make the right play and instead call. I guess this was mostly a "WTF?!" call.
