Default Harrington or Raymer?

Who, in your opinion had a better back to back performance at the WSOP ME, Harrington's two final tables (3rd/800+ and 4th/2500+), or Raymers win/2500+ and 25th/5600+?

and why?

I have to go with Raymer, two record fields, $5,300,000 cashed, a bracelet, i'm envious.

I went with Harrington. They are probably pretty close, but I think getting deep into two consecutive final tables is amazing.

Both accomplishments are mind-boggling.

Went w/ Raymer since he also went deep in one of the earlier events w/ 2,000+ people. From a career WSOP perspective, no doubt Dan, 3 final tables, 1 win. Greg still has time though.

I think you also need to consider Harringtons win in 95 if you are comparing the two players. However, even without his win in '95 two final tables in a row is more impressive.

I went with Raymer - but they were both very impressive.

If you really want to be impressed, consider this:

Over a twelve year period from 1976 to 1988, Jesse Alto made the main event final table six times! Yes, SIX!

If he had won one of the them, he would be a poker god. Instead, his finishes of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 9th are virtually unknown.

Bummer. Hell of a player and a good guy.

Of course the fields back then were like 16 people and two poodles.
