Default Bet or check this river?

Since Bison's convertor doesn't work for UB this will all be done by hand.

Hero (1500)
Villian (2950)

Blinds 20/40.

Hero is UTG with AK and raises pot (140). Villian is in CO and flat calls. SB and BB fold.

Flop KdJh3s

Hero checks, Villain checks.

Turn 9c

Hero bets 300, Villain calls.

River 6d

Hero ...??

don't overbet the turn so when the river comes you can bet again...

I think I'd still bet the river, hard to say though cause I wouldn't put my chips in like that.

I must be missing something. What about the six of diamonds scared you exactly?
Your hand isn't any worse than it was on the turn.
I'd do 200 on the turn and ~250 on the river.

Assuming you check, what would you have done if he had bet 300 behind you?

It's not that the 6 of diamonds that scared me, it was the 9 of clubs that scared me. The 9 made so many hands viable for 2 pair/straight/set.

And yes, if he bets 300 on the river, I do call.

Its not the card that scares me its the call of the overbet...

Thats very weak-tight thinking in my opinion.
Are you putting villain on QT? He did call 3x BB preflop and only checked behind you on the turn. Stranger things have happened, but I don't see how you putting him on this exact hand is anything but weak-tight. As for the set, any card could give him a set. Would you fear if a 7 or an 8 fell?

Please post the level next time. $10, $50, $100?
It's especially relevant in this situation.

If you're going to call 300, bet 300. If not, fold AK preflop.

Not against a LAG who would be more likely to make a big bet rather than call one on the river here. If you always bet when you're strong and check when you're weak you become very "readable".

I agree, but hero is checking here because he is scared, not because he is trying to deceive.

I don't understand your check on the flop. You've got top pair and the boss kicker.
