Default 25-50 SH vs Layne Flack

25-50, 4 handed. Just doubled up on him when I called a raise with ac9c and flop came all clubs. Slow played it, he turned a straight and I got it all in.

8k stacks each. I'm in SB with 8s9s. Layne raises to 200, I call.

Flop (450): 8h3h9c. I check, he bets 350, I make it 1200, he calls.

Turn (2850): 10s. I bet 2850, he pushes, I...

No reads really. He called a 3-bet all in when I flopped pair+flush draw with top pair [censored] kicker earlier. And the hand I doubled up on, he turned a straight and called a c/r all-in when the board was all clubs on the flop and it was checked through. So I think he's kind of loose, but I don't think he really spews money, obviously.

Hi dp,

This is a pretty tough spot. There are factors pointing to calling (2 pair is big HU, you just slowplayed one big hand on the flop, T is obviously a scary card, LF plays pretty wild at times), and to folding (open-ender got there, T9 is quite possible for him, he could've had you on the flop, you've shown a ton of strength and he's still raising, you're likely way behind or not so far ahead).

You played it very well on the flop, though pushing would've been pretty sweet, too, since he can give you credit for a draw on that board. I would've bet less on the turn. Now, call.

this seems like an easy call. ugly spot; and i'm not happy he pushed if i have your hand; but unless he is completely uncapable of making moves i call here every time. I think it would be an interesting spot if you had TQ... and i still might call.

EDIT: thought this was HU and not SH... makes it more borderline... but i still call here almost everytime.

He thinks he has you right here, first a smooth call to your flop re-raise and then an all-in re-raise. If he had the goods he would always smooth call and wait for your lead on 4th. Classic situation whenever he thinks he has best of it, now does he think his JJ, QQ, JT..... beats your two pair or does he have the straight??

Tough spot, but like u said u just doubled through so call him with his money and see if you cant stick him deeper than cow [censored].

With 8600 or so in the middle and 3700 more to you, you're getting more than 2:1 against the epitome of a LAG. Layne is totally capable of pushing here with air, although that's not likely. I know I've seen him bet into a flop like that (and call a similar raise) with as little as two overs, so even a hand like AT is a possibility.

That's not an easy decision. Against Layne, I think I have to call it, especially if I think he might be steaming. Against Vince Burgio, I'm gonna muck.
