You are correct. I really didn't think about that too much as computing an EV calculation doesn't take that into consideration.

Could you please explain why you think there's such a large difference between chip EV and $EV in this situation, where folding a hand that's a 3-2 favorite against strassa's range with about 420K in the pot is correct? Strassa's to stonekiller's immediate right, and if he's raising liberally with any two I don't see too many spots for you to open raise in the future. Either Strassa is going to raise or someone before him is going to raise pretty much every hand. I just can't see waiting around for a big hand here to call, when you know you're up against a random hand.

Edit -- Just to make it clear, as this argument seems to be getting pretty heated, I'm not confident one way or the other. I'd just like to hear a more solid argument for folding to convince me.

22 is a marginal favorite against any 2 random cards. He has nothing to lose.

I don't see how you could fold a pair if you are short stacked versus a (perceived) complete maniac in this situation.
