Default How to make money in a rock garden (LC - not quite NC)

Here's how my 5-max session started today:

Hand #2

Paradise Poker 1/2 Hold'em (3 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Final Pot: 1.75 BB

Hand #3

Paradise Poker 1/2 Hold'em (4 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG posts a blind of $1.
UTG (poster) checks, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, SB completes, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, UTG calls, SB folds.

Flop: (5 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, UTG folds.

Final Pot: 3 BB

Hand #4

Paradise Poker 1/2 Hold'em (4 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>.

Final Pot: 1.50 BB

Interesting... I'll lay low for a couple hands so I come off as a psycho and drive them away... Hands 5-8 show similar rocky tendencies...

Hand #9

Paradise Poker 1/2 Hold'em (3 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Final Pot: 1.75 BB

Hand #10

Paradise Poker 1/2 Hold'em (3 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is BB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (2 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, SB folds.

Final Pot: 1.50 BB

Darn... some players are sitting in, but one rock is still on my left. Just be patient...

Hand #16

Paradise Poker 1/2 Hold'em (5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is SB with 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>.

Final Pot: 1.50 BB

Here's an extra 2.75 BB won in those 3 hands (that I normally would not play) by taking advantage of the guy on my left. I wasn't going to raise *EVERY* hand, but I was ready to raise about 2/3 of the time from the SB if it was folded to me and raise from the button with at lots of things until they adjusted or left. Then I'd back off for a while before pounding them again.

If the new players didn't come in, I probably could have kept nibbling away his stack (all of this without the rake because the pots are smaller). It is true, however, that it's easier to make money against loose players.

Hand #36

Paradise Poker 1/2 Hold'em (4 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Button calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, BB calls, Button calls.

Flop: (6 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB calls, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, BB calls, Button calls.

Turn: (7.50 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB calls, Button calls.

River: (10.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB calls, Button folds.

Final Pot: 12.50 BB

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
Hero has Ks Kd (one pair, kings).
BB has 6c Ts (one pair, tens).
Outcome: Hero wins 12.50 BB. </font>

you need to move up to 20/40 short. this is clearly unprofitable.

I don't have the 500 BB for that game just yet. I'm almost there.
