Are you OK with tax dollars going into educating children so long as the provision of the education is private, or do you feel otherwise.

[/ QUOTE ]

No. I'm not OK with tax dollars going to anything.

Now, given the reality of the situation, I think eliminating public schools altogether and giving all school-age children vouchers is better than government-run schools.

And you can be OK with being under the rule of an invading foreign power that has its [censored] together. Unless you think magical libertarian fairies are going to keep you safe at night.

Do you think magical libertarian fairies are going to keep you safe at night?

1. I have not told you my political affiliation, nor do I have any inclination to do so.
2. This is the second of your posts to completely duck an issue that's been brought up.

Do you honestly believe that in a pvb's America, in which the government does not levy taxes for any purpose, including national defense (re: "I'm not OK with taxes dollars going to anything"), we would not be invaded by a foreign power? Can you cite any example of a country that spends $0 on defense and has not been invaded in the past 100 years? Can you give additional supporting evidince as to why this would not happen in the case of the U.S.

Please feel free to dodge the issue and call me a (whiny|snivveling|insensitive|idiotic) (liberal|republican|left-winger|conservative|hippy|fascist) at your discretion.

First off, you're completely missing the point.

There are other ways to raise money for the federal government- say a 5% tariff on foreign goods. That would raise enough money to fund a ~200 billion dollar government, with about half of that going to defense.

I never said we would spend $0 on defense (or anything else).

Just because the government provides something now doesn't mean it's the only way it can be provided.
