Default Neteller Switched to a Canadian Bank?

I don't know if what this guy is saying has any merit, but I thought I would post it anyway just to let people know.

gods-son: does anybody here use neteller?
PokerJedi: yup
gods-son: have you recieved a check lately
gods-son: it is advisable to convert neteller accounts to cad dollar
BravesAtl: why do you say that?
gods-son: they have changed bank from us to canadian bank
BravesAtl: how will that affect me?
gods-son: they will send you a cheque in us dollar, but when the canadian bank recieves the check, they will charge you to convert to, thi
gods-son: currency
gods-son: if you recieve check in cad, no charge applies
gods-son: already converted
gods-son: i spoke to neteller for 1 hour last night, i was furious
gods-son: as i had just deposited two checks recently
gods-son: and i was never informed of the chage
gods-son: change
gods-son: let everyone know
gods-son: before they request a check
PokerJedi: what are you talking about?
PokerJedi: getting a check from netteller?
gods-son: convert your account to cad dollar before any cashins at neteller, to stop the convertion fee
PokerJedi: ahh, I am in USA so I guess it does not apply to me
gods-son: im only helping you
gods-son: yes it does
gods-son: they now have. A CANADIAN BANK
PokerJedi: I do not understand
gods-son: the canadian bank they use, charges you. to convert your neteller check to canadian currency
gods-son: before payment
gods-son: a us check is no good now
PokerJedi: I just took 1500 from netteller, I did not see any fees
gods-son: has it cleared
PokerJedi: yes, but I do EFT and not checks
gods-son: so you did not recieve a check then
PokerJedi: no, straight to the bank
gods-son: ok, remember it only applies to checks
PokerJedi: ok
PokerJedi: I have a special checking account just for netteller transactions
PokerJedi: have not had any fees yet
gods-son: but remember what i said if ever you ask for check
PokerJedi: ok
gods-son: i might be best to use atm machines as well

Doesn't surprise me since it's a Canadian company...

I don't really get what he is saying, I think he's a bit confused.
He seems to be claiming the the bank issueing the check is charging a currency conversion. If the check is in USD and you are in the US, and depositing to a USD account, where is the conversion?
It is possible (I guess) that the bank cashing the check might charge a fee for cashing an check from an international bank, thought that would be a bit lame.

I have a different beef with them. I'm in canada, and wanted to deposit to my USD account (at a canadian bank), because I want to keep the money in USD, and don't want to get reamed on the double currency conversion. Apparently, this is not allowed - canadian residents can only take receive EFT's from neteller in CAD. They told me it was a "security issue". Right.
