Default Irieguy makes Cardplayer \"Almost There with Success and Failure\"

I ventured out to a real casino and picked up the latest edition of Cardplayer - Casino edition September 14. Ted Forrest is on the cover if you are looking for it. Much to my surprise Scott Fischman's article(p.38) was titled "Almost there with success and failure". Gigabet guest wrote the article and it is basically his response to Irieguy's classic post about success and failure. Much of Irie's original post is quoted Interesting read and congrats to Giga and Irie. As if I needed more proof that Irie is the man.

Yeah I was perusing through Card Player the other day and saw it listed in the next issue, although they haven't posted it yet. I thought Fischman was going to write his own article, that maybe had thoughts on Giga's post since they were friends, but I guess not.

I am not certain if I gave Irieguy enough credit or not, I just put his name below a direct quote from his post that I used in the article(which was used a header for the second page.) I am not a professional writer by any means, so I don't really know the correct amount of recognition to give those who influenced the written topic. I really felt that the article is more about how to help people learn to think differently, rather than 2 slightly differing views on the same topic. If Irieguy would like more recognition for his contribution to the article, then I am certain that Jeff Shulman(editor) would be more than happy to put a short in next months issue.

The article is only different than the original post in the sense that it is written as a stand alone essay, rather than a response to anothers words.

It was a pleasant surprise to see it. I don't want or need any more recognition, but thank you.

I told you in your original thread that it was the most important thing I had ever read about poker, so you know that I am grateful already.

Just keep me in mind if you write another guest column... I have lots of material.

They put the articles online about a week after the RL issue comes out, so it'll probably be up Thursday or so.

Cool.

Just from what Hurst said it sounded like he may not have been mentioned at all.

Perhaps you two and Fischman could all team up with some new material. Perhaps elucidating block theory?

Good to see you're back checkin' 2+2. We all missed ya at the STTFHUC, hopefully you can make it out for President's Day.
