Default Non self-weighting strategies for life

After having read "Gambling Theory and other Topics" it seems to me that robbing a bank would be a non-selfweighting strategy if it is carefully planned of course

I wonder if Steve McQueen is Mason's favorite actor since he always played guys who relied on non-selfweighting strategies for life.

What is a non-selfweighting strategy? Please explain. I'm not familiar with the concept.

I disagree. McQueen is loose aggresive in real life.

A non-selfweighting strategy is basically to wait for a situation when the odds are in your favor and then to hit as hard as you can to get the maximum advantage out of it.

Then, as I understand it, a non-self weighted strategy is whn you wait until you have the best of it, and the get the most you can. In that case, robbing a bank is a bad (wrong) example. Robbing banks, given a big enough sample size , is definately -EV.

It's also about quality versus quantity of decisions, such as not playing every hand.
