Default PS 2-Table $14 satellites to $215 Sunday Tourney

I'm sorry if this topic has been discussed before (it probably has many times). I used the search function and couldn't find anything specific on the $14 2-table SNGs to the $215 Sunday tournament at Poker Stars.

I am wondering what kind of success can be obtained through these satellites. I plan to play in these and unregister and take the t$. What kind of results can be expected and is this a good way to earn some t$?

How is the level of play in these?

It seems like the $39 freeze-outs are the best way to gain entry into the Sunday tournaments, but that is above my bankroll right now. So, I am thinking about playing the $14 2-tables instead. Is this a good idea?

Thanks, and sorry if this a repeat post.

I've played them and won plenty. I think that they are a good deal as players aren't taking it as seriously. I almost always take the T dollars myself or split them with the final 2-3 players. I've only played the "big one" twice and was horribly drawn out both times before getting as deep as I wanted. I do play to start getting into this tourney more often because a guy that works here at my company has won it twice. He even won the 500 one at the end of the month.

If your roll can't handle 39 freezeouts with 1/6 getting a seat, I doubt a 2 table SnG with one place paid and 1 getting his money back is so healthy for your bankroll either.

I disagree, playing the 18 player SNG Satts has a better overlay than the 9 player games. Either way, they are great practice for the satts to the big show next year. I found that they prepared me for the WSOP doubleshootouts more than the single tables did.

I'm not sure I get this post? 9 player games? The 39's are MTT freezeouts with one in every 6 players getting a spot.

Apologies, I thought you were talking about single table games at $39/pop. How many entries are there typically to these MTTs? Never played those.

The one that is running now has 70 entries, 11 gets a seat. 12th gets 150'ish. There are usually more people playing them closer to sunday.

I play these alot and make it to the final 4 often. I have won 3 times and chopped once. I like these the REAL cheese is at the FPP sats to this tournament. I like that the very best. Just remember it's virtually winner take all so you may have to take some chances you wouldn't normally take. Who ever has the biggest stack going into the final 3-5 is usually the person who wins.

What type of bankroll should be needed if most of it is going to be focused on the $14s?

I would assume more than the standard 30x buy-ins since only two places get something...

Also, what is a bankroll size for the 39s?

Another question about the 39s and bankroll size...

Generally I have heard that one MTT should spend up no more than 1-2% of your bankroll. I understand that this is a different circumstance, so what is the adjustment for bankroll level?

Any replies are appreciated...thanks!
