Default Is this a good SNG book?

Has anybody here read:

Win Your Way Into Big Money Hold'em Tournaments : How to Beat Casino and Online Satellite Poker Tournament by Brad Daugherty, Tom McEvoy

It's my understanding that this is a re-packaging of "Championship Satellite Strategy" - not sure if there's anything new in this edition. Some have recommended it in the book forum as the best SNG-applicable book, but I'm curious about what the SNG experts think.

Thanks,
Pasta

I don't know about the McEvoy book. But, there are many excellent examples of SNG play in Harrington on Hold'em.

Yep, HOH is a great book - loved it. Planning to re-read soon, and anxiously awaiting Vol 2. But I would like to hear thoughts on McEvoy & Daugherty's book, since it's been touted as SNG-applicable, and is (presumably) dedicated to single-table tournaments (unlike HOH).

Well, the initial one was little help for SNg's. It gave advice along the lines of only a single place paying out, with the possibility of a deal being made for second and possibly third. It had little to do with the advent of the 5/3/2 10 player SNG's that are now industry standard.

I agree 100%. I pre-ordered it before it hit the streets, and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down until it was finished. Not coincidentially I have seen quite an improvement in my overall play in both MTTs & SSTs.

It now holds a place of honor on the bathroom shelf, and every morning I read a few hand examples and meditate on them for the rest of the day.

Great stuff.

Yes.
HoH is my new favorite 2+2 book.
As an extra bonus, Harrington has a great sense of humor.

It's worth the price of admission just to get the cover pic of Dan with da hat.

I have the book and believe that it is just a repackage of existing material. The book is not very helpfull for SNGs. There is a lot of info about limit satelites and WSOP qualifying. Very little that will help win a 5/3/2 SNG.
