Why does this bother me so much? Sure makes me think as to the reasons people do the things they do.

Your whole argument is compelling, but I think it is only the shock value. I need to know more as to why they are doing this and how widespread the practice is. It is too easy to get a false stereotype in my head.

Other cultures practices can seem crazy till you look closely as to their motivation. Often our own culture will have an equally puzzling practice that satisfies the same need.

They are doing this just to keep the men happy I am guessing/hoping. I think that's why it bothers me.

This thread got majorly hijacked. My first thought when I saw this quote yesterday morning (yes, this came from one of those stupid daily poker calendars) was that this was an odd thing for Donald Trump to say.

Obviously, we don't know the context in which he said this or whether or not he actually even did say it. But let's assume for a second that he actually said and believes this. Wouldn't that be very strange for someone of his successes and abilities to believe? That was my point...
