Re: Common problem: KK gets donked by an A-high flop
I don't like calling in this situation. The board is very weak and drawless, like you said, which is why I would rather raise. If I'm going to continue in this hand I at least want the value of position on my side.
I would rather fold than call in this situation. |

Re: Common problem: KK gets donked by an A-high flop
If you try to continue raise the flop, bet the turn and take a free showdown.
If you don't continue.... well, fold |

I just realized this was Absolute.
Kumobou you didn't happen to have a problem with some suave hotshot poker player sitting on your left and 3-betting your raises w/ middle PP's and flopping full houses all night, did you? Just wondering, ya' know, for the record. |

[ QUOTE ]
Assuming the other two players fold on your raise on the flop and, as it often happends at micro-limit, SB calls the raise on the flop what do you do then on the turn if SB bets the turn again? SB checks the turn? [/ QUOTE ] Well, UI i fold to a turn bet. If he has a low went-to-showdown percentage, i might bet into him if he checks the turn. But that low af read keeps me pondering It pretty much depends on the read here , i think. |

a) Be weak-tight and fold. [/ QUOTE ] Why is it "weak-tight" to fold a hand that is way behind and facing highly unfavorable pot odds to continue? |

Re: Common problem: KK gets donked by an A-high flop
I agree with JRZ, this pot is too small, thus unfavorable pot odds to get into any further.
Fold it like a paper airplane. |

Re: Common problem: KK gets donked by an A-high flop
Fold, there are 3 others still in and likely at least one of them has an Ace, if they do they wont fold but you might scare them into calldown mode which in this case just costs you more. I really dont get how a fold here is weak tight.

Re: Common problem: KK gets donked by an A-high flop
With no draws on the table, what else can the bettor have but an ace? Unless he is complete idiot, he is hardly likely to bet second pair into a pre-flop raise with two others still to act. More likely he has a weak ace, and is hoping that you will raise with something like hmmmm....KK... so that the rest of the field might fold aces with better kickers. Fold and move on to the next hand. The pot isn't so huge that you can't let it go.
