2+2 Invades Foxwoods?
(x-post from B+M)
I have x-mas week off, and I will probably head down to Foxwoods for at least one morning tourney - probably the Wed $80 + $20 (12/28/05). So I was thinking - we should get a bunch of 2+2ers down there to play one all on the same day, and see how many of us can get into the money, who does the best, etc. Anyone down? |

80+20??? Uh, Rake much? [/ QUOTE ] yeah - welcome to foxwoods. still beats their $45 + $15. the incredibly soft competition more than makes up for the exorbitant rake though. |

Re: 2+2 Invades Foxwoods?
Soft indeed - I was able to ride a cold-deck to 36th of 160 or so in one $45+$15 tournament at Foxwoods (that was my first live casino tournament). First prize when I played was a bit above $2,000. I got knocked out after pushing all in w/ K-9 suited on the button, getting called by K-5, and the BB flopped trip fives on me. You'd be amazed to watch the players play - I was seeing some very donkified calls and strange plays. A great player has a good chance to win a tournament here.
Lets also not forget that a casino actually has to supply dealers, tables, chips, etc. unlike an online room, which explains the 20-25% rake. |

welcome to foxwoods. ... the exorbitant rake [/ QUOTE ] Or welcome to being spoiled by 10% or lower rake online. Look at B&M tourneys in AC, it's the same thing: 20-30% rake on the small buy-ins. 40+10, 50+15, 80+20, 100+25. It's just the way it is. There are costs involved in physically putting the thing on, and they don't shrink just because the buy-in does. $200 and up (and there's hardly anything between $100 and $200) you'll pay 10%ish. |

Oh, I know - all good points, and I fully agree. It is totally worth the extra $20 just for the added "thrill"
of a live tournament. |

Re: 2+2 Invades Foxwoods?
I'm sure you have to get there at like 4am for that tournament. Foxwoods is packed to the brim on holidays like christmas, nevermind how tourneys usually are.
