If I were a cop, this would make me a little uneasy, to say the least.

[/ QUOTE ]

The first thing they teach cops is to control the hands. If that woman had a gun/knife on her, I would be amazed if she didn't try to use it. Abusive cops suck, and there are a ton of them out there. However, cops have to protect themselves from dangerous people. This cops #1 priority was to control the hands. He did just that. If she let him handcuff her she would of been fine. If he reached in, she could of drove off and dragged him. He did nothing wrong IMO.

It seems that there's only 20 seconds of conversation before they TASER her. I'm sorry but that is bullshit. He told her twice and then he zapped her. Ridiculous.

How many times are they supposed to tell her?

[/ QUOTE ]

There are a lot of cases of police abusing power. This isn't one of them. This douchebag needs to get tased every other day for the rest of her life to get the bitchiness out of her.

Am I the only one who thought this was going to be a porn flick because I thought the title of this thread was "I'm going to taste you"?

Jeez, this sucks. You'd think this was taking place in a war zone, not here. Good thing the officer had a taser, or he might have shot her. He sure didn't give her much time to comply. Put this guy on a swat team, not dealing with citizens in a normal way. I don't care if it's politically expedient to legislate a particular type of assault as acceptable violence committed by the state, it's still a violent assault. This cop sucks. A lot. There's no way in hell this was anything like a last resort in this situation. Seems like just the typical arsehole control freak.

All for having a suspended license.

[/ QUOTE ]

Speeding, suspended license, obstruction, resisting, assaulting an officer, tail light out, and could've had a weapon. I think this force was neccessary. I don't think they needed to zap her again, though. She was already [censored] up, could've just picked her up by then.

The part that disturbed me the most was when the cop lied about her "taking a swing" at the other officer. He was obviously trying to come up with more of a justification as to why he needed to tase her. It sounded to me more like he was getting his story straight with the other officer..."Okay, this is the story...she took a swing at you, so I tased her..." He was covering his ass with a bald faced lie.

[/ QUOTE ]

Have to agree with this....also....

In both videos the subjects (victims for the bleeding hearts) are ordered to put their hands behind their back or “get some more”. Interesting to note that in both cases, the subject was verbalizing that they were physically unable to comply after being tased . this of course just resulted in more tasing.

There’s got to be federal grant study money out there for this! Any volunteers?

Good points.

It is certain that police officers often commit "mistakes" or intentional breaches of justice. That sucks, but there are mechanisms for dealing with these after the fact. If this woman has legitimate defenses to her being pulled over and ticketed, she can bring them forth in the appropriate forum. Refusing to cooperate with the police officer is not the way to protest the ticket.

Of course, if one is in emminent danger, it may be justified to attempt escape or self defense. That was not the case here. The police were exceedingly patient with a person who was becoming more and more belligerent.

It is vitally important that civilians remain obediant to police officers. In time of emergency, the police need cooperation, not bullshit. The police had a justification for giving her the taser, even if the "stated reason" was not correct. (By the way, there is a time just before the woman is tasered that the other officer seems to enter the cab ... perhaps this is when she "took a swing.") Is it really reasonable to expect the police to wait all day for the woman to finish her phone conversation and step out of the vehicle at her own convenience? No way, especially when you consider the fact, SHE WAS UNDER ARREST and refusing to comply with the order to step out of the vehicle.
