What would you do in this hypothetical situation ?

A situation like this comes up often. Just wondering what people would do in this situation:-

midway through MTT, blinds $100/$200

You hold 66, evryone folds to you in mid position, you call to see cheap flop and only get 1 other limper in late pos, plus the big blind. Flop comes 6 Kc 2c.

you've made trips, there's a flush draw. Pot has $700, BB checks, you stick in $600 to give the flush drawer incorrect calling odds. Late position goes all in for $2500, BB folds. Pot now $3800. What do you think to yourself and what do when you know that:-

Situ A:-
other player is conservative and only plays premium hands.


Situ B:- other player is aggressively loose.

You must call here every time. If you're not playing 66 to flop a set, then why are you playing them? It's different in a cash game, but as Harrington says in volume 2, folding a set in a tournament is usually a mistake.

For A I'd really like to know a little more about the difference in how he plays AK, KK, and AA (that is, how conservative: is he likely to reraise with TPTK/overpair, or only with the nuts?), but without that read I'm inclined to call, especially if my stack is very small or very large. For B I'd call every time.

First off I think sticking 600 on a 700 dollar pot is way too much especially with only one other limper. I would make it 500. He still won't have odds to call but at least you can make some money of your set. A donkey will call anything with top pair but again that is read dependent. To answer your question you call here 100% of the time. The only hand that worries you here is KK and it is so unlikely that he limped in with that you are just going to have to pay it off unless of course you have a great read on him.

I don't get this question at all. You're going to consider a fold because the guy in late position may have limped with KK? That's a pretty far-fetched scenario.

I think the bet on the flop is too big. It's not very likely in a 3-handed situation that someone has a specific flush draw, and by the way, since you have a set the flush draw isn't getting the odds he thinks he is anyway. If someone has a K you're getting action anyway, so I would play it a little slower.

No I'm not going to consider a fold, as I never mentioned that in my original question. I really wanted to know what everyone was thinking when the limper went all in.
