Pocket 8\'s against a TAG
3/6 on abso. Villain is taggish and is 2 to my left and have been 3 betting a lot of my steals. We haven't shown down yet, since I've yet to hit anything on the flop when he plays back.
I have 8s8d in the CO. I raise, button folds, villain 3 bets, BB folds, I cap. Flop comes 6sTdJd. He checks, i bet, he check raises, I 3 bet, he caps. Turn is a 6c. He bets, I fold. Standard? |

Re: Pocket 8\'s against a TAG
Not for me. I think I'd want to get to SD unless a scare card comes.

Re: Pocket 8\'s against a TAG
You're thinking that his flop cap is saying, "I've got a pair." When the board pairs the only card on the flop under yours that you are behind everything but a PP 77 and under. Do you think it is possible that, since you've folded to him so much, that he's playing that hard with overs? How many times had he 3-bet and you folded postflop? I think this might be a good time to call down for image purposes, especially since it is more likely that you are ahead with all the previous folds.

Re: Pocket 8\'s against a TAG
Unless he's a maniac, and he hasn't shown himself to be, I find it unlikely he'll push this hard with AQ or 55. Maybe with AdKd, and even then, the T and J have to be scary to him.
