Default aggression check with \"small\" set

SB is "baddish." He's not awful, but he seems like the type to slowplay a set.
UTG is a calling station.

When SB checked the flop, my first instinct was that he had a queen set. Should I have just called the river and gone for the overcall. And once he 3 bets me, should I have just called, since I guess a flush is a possiblity.

with the backdoor flush hitting i think capping is excessive, but im gay on the river. AKs is prob more likely here.

I'd cap it, but it's probably close. You haven't really represented any kind of hand, so he could be 3-betting you fairly light. I've seen people do goofy things with AA/KK. Since there aren't any logical straight draws and the flush was runner-runner, I think you are ahead here about 55% of the time.

capping the river here, is not a good plan against most opponents.

I would have bet the turn and folded to a checkraise. It depends on what you mean by "bad" the bet-three bet on the river is a strong play here, i don't see you winning 50%+ of the time, especially since i would assume 3/6 is more passive than 5/10/20 games.

You gave him a free card on the turn and it looks like he made his flush
