Default AA set, right number of bets?

Did I put the right number of bets into this pot? UTG is something like 30/20/2, if I remember correctly. I had not seen him do anything incredibly stupid or noteworthy.

Party 3/6 6max

Hero is BB with AA

Preflop
UTG raises, 1 fold, button 3-bets, SB folds, Hero caps, UTG calls, button calls.

Flop AQTr
Hero bets, UTG calls, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, UTG caps, Button calls, Hero calls.

Turn AQT3r
Hero bets, UTG raises, Button calls, Hero 3-bets, UTG caps, all call.

River AQT37
Hero bets, UTG raises, Button calls, Hero calls.

Final Pot 29.5BB

Looks ok to me. Most players aren't reraising KJ preflop, so I have a hard time believing UTG might have a straight until he caps the turn and raises the river.

UTG put in the first raise preflop and then called my preflop cap.

I'm still learning how to read.

edit: this makes the straight alot easier to believe in. Check/call the river.

UTG never had a change to cap PF.

I think this is all easy until the river. after he caps the turn I think we need to put him on QQ (3), TT (3), KJ (16), or PCP. I'm not so sure leading the river is the right play, especially considering the 2-1 odds we get when we are able to overcall behind the button and we can't count on button calling two cold if UTG pops it again. and I really doubt UTG is letting it check through with a set of queens or tens.

every time I see a hand like this with action like button's I am immediately reminded of that story private joker wrote in small stakes a while back... "he still call! he still call!!". anybody know what I'm talking about?? funny stuff..

I looked at my line.. and it's a little weak. I still slow down earlier than the OP did. If I lead the turn I probably don't 3-bet. Given how you played it, I definitely agree with Baron here.

i would bet the EV of calling down after the turn raise is similar to the EV of 3betting and calling down if capped. - part of the thing is putting in more bets on the turn is less damaging because you have outs to improve.

also, how often you are ahead here depends on your opponent almost entirely. im sure lots of opponents play AQ, TT, QQ etc more aggressively than others.

Good point, but keep in mind that the BB likely has a set too, so you need to discount your out. That is unless BB is a total donkey. OP didn't give any info on him. I guess he could have AK there, but a set isn't unlikely based on the action.
