Flopped set of 3s facing possible rivered flush
Signed up to the new Eurobet.
$600 was too tempting. Well, down $150 so far in about 750 hands (not exactly sure how many because PT had problems loading some hands). The interface is terrible and I get disconnections all the time. Here is one hand I would like some comments on please. Texas Hold'em $0.50-$1 NL (real money), hand #1,518,004,527 Table azeotrope x´s HE, 26 Nov 2005 11:57 PM ET Seat 2: spanta2 Seat 3: Powerbait77 Seat 4: skilesbot Seat 6: theblitz4 [ 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ] Seat 7: LynzieDawn Seat 10: herbhunter ANTES/BLINDS LynzieDawn posts blind ($0.25), herbhunter posts blind ($0.50). TURN [board cards J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ,2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ] (Pot: 34.25) Powerbait77 checks, theblitz4 bets $20, Powerbait77 calls $20. RIVER [board cards J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ,2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img],7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ] (Pot: 74.25) Powerbait77 bets $12.95 and is all-in - NOW WHAT????? Looking back - I should have raised far more on the flop. If I had we probably would have been all-in on the turn. |

Re: Flopped set of 3s facing possible rivered flush
raise to at least 15 on the flop, put him all in on the turn.
even as you played it, he still has less than pot left on the turn. put him in. his weak 1/3 bet on the flop is most likely not top pair so does you no good to milk him on the turn with that $20 bet. |

Re: Flopped set of 3s facing possible rivered flush
you have to call this small bet. Given his stack size it could be a donk bluff.
I too make less than ps bets on coordinated flops with a made hand... and am always criticized for it. I can't seem to stop. I'm not convinced that the extra action isn't a winner, but on the other hand, the people doing the criticizing know a lot. |

Re: Flopped set of 3s facing possible rivered flush
While I think you undoubtedly could have played the hand better on several streets, I also think pot odds mandate a call on the end. You are getting almost 7:1, so if you play make this call every time, you do not have to be right very often to come out ahead.

stack sizes
raise more everwhere, like to 14 on the flop, and bet pot on the turn his river bet is like 1/7th pot you have to call |

Re: Flopped set of 3s facing possible rivered flush
Well.
Seems that everyone is in agreement with the fact that I should have bet more on the flop. Also, that I really had no choice but to call. I did call and, of course, he had the flush. Sort of the story of my evening. |
