Question about \"never limp second\"
I remember reading a poster some time ago saying something about that you should always raise as the second person entering the pot. I understand that as all the other "rules" it all depends on the situation and so on. Anyway, I don't feel that I understand the logic behind this statement, what's so bad about limping second? Could someone please explain this? -aron Maybe this should have gone in the begginners forum? |

Re: Question about \"never limp second\"
If you're in LP and the blinds are relatively tight, this is generally good advice. But I can think of plenty of situations where I limp second in and wouldn't dream about raising...mostly situations where I want more limpers behind me .

Because that's a no-no. Only other thing I can think of is raising to isolate a single weak limper sometimes being appropriate, but this is the exception and not the rule at the microlimits. |

Re: Question about \"never limp second\"
I'll echo what others have said and mention that you either misunderstood the advice you were given or were perhaps just given bad advice. There are plenty of times where I'll limp in after a limper. (i.e. speculative hands like a smaller pocket pair or Axs, x<9)

Re: Question about \"never limp second\"
I disagree that limping behind is always bad or usually bad.
