Default My name is AceHiStation, lord of the fish

Well, after swinging up and down the last couple weeks I've decided that I truly am one of the biggest fish in the 3/6 NL game. I am a major calling station and I justify my fishy plays as image plays. I don't respect my opponents raises, reraises, minraises, mincheckraises, lack pot control, etc...

If I am unable to put my opponent on a hand, or I am confused by his line, I will make a bluff...

The last few weeks I've been your classic case of knowing good poker, but being too impatient/stubborn to play it. I can read posts all day long and post a logical play with good reasoning, but once I'm on the tables I just say "he's probably on a play, or I can get him to fold." This post is just something I needed to get off my chest. I'm sure a lot of you have seen me going nuts on the tables the last few weeks, and I just wanted to get his out there. Hopefully it will inspire me to play the poker I know I'm capable of playing. Anyways, excuse the rant. Had to get that off my chest.

Later,
-Ace

the first hand, fold to the check-min-raise. His whole line here says that he has TPTK beat, listen to him

second hand, this river bluff can be justified if you have a read, but I need a read to do it

third hand, I fold river without a good read. Overbets on 4-flush boards are usually nut or second nut flushes in my experience

First off let me just say I really respect your posts and blog, they are great learning tools and help me immensely as I make the switch from sh limit to sh nl.

Second, everyone goes through a period like this where you act in conflict with how you know you should act, exactly like you said out of stubborness - but once you are honest with yourself about it like you have been, you will start playing great poker. I've been there and I think ever since I realized that I can't play auto-pilot for a nice profit, I've been playing better than I ever have before.

Hope things turn around, take a breather, go over your PT hands and count up all the $$ you have lost by being stubborn, foolish, or just plain dumb when you know better. Its very sobering.
