Stars 25+2 turbo play
CO has raised a few pots recently. I figured there was a good chance I have the best hand now, so I decided to take a chance and try to pick up the dead money in the pot.

Pushing certainly does take that away from him. With your read, its not a bad play...BUT, I feel also that your advantage in these things comes later. Do you see him doing this with 99 or worse? If you ask me, against a possible range, without the read, I think this play is borderline. With read it is a wee bit better obviously. but close. Note: I think I prefer pushing to calling. |

Re: Stars 25+2 turbo play
I think its still too early in the tournmaent to make this play...You've played long enough you dont want to get knocked out on a race, but not long enough that you dont have other options (calling or folding or just re raising) here. There will only be 225 in dead money in the pot...your risking a lot for just that if thats your justification. Just because he raises a lot of pots recently doesn't mean he's doing it without justification, or that he's gonna call your re raise all in without a very good hand.

Re: Stars 25+2 turbo play
I don't like pushing this early w/ 10s. In short, I feel that the loose players call you too often and the tighter players freuqently have you beat. Would you play 99 this way? JJ?
This leaves you w/ call and try to hit a set w/ ~3:1 current odds or fold and wait for another hand. I fold here. Why no PF raise? |

Why no PF raise? [/ QUOTE ] I usually limp from EP with 6-10s and raise JJ and up. |

Re: Stars 25+2 turbo play
in case you are comfortable with your read, -go for it.
but when you get called, it's very likely a coinflip at best. personally, i hate coinflips early on. i vote for limp/fold. fwiw, i'm weak/tight... |
