Default Buy poker chips.com Modern Clay

got my samples of the modern clay today. i like them a lot, but am just starting to look at clay chips. i searched, and didn't come up with much, so please don't say to use search. i know they're not custom, but that's not really important to me. what do you guys think of them?

hmm. i guess i was thinking that people who hadn't seen them wouldn't reply.

but since you ask:

i think they're really beautiful. i think that they feel good and have nice colors. i think that i don't really like that they say poker on them. i also think that, since i don't have much experience with clay chips, i don't have much of a reference point.

I think they are a nice quality chip from what I've read. Nothing I've read in the past few months enticed me to get samples because I was split between TR Kings and Egyptians (having eliminated a few others along the way)...

For clay, I like the TR King more than pokerchips.com clay and tons more than the "Grand Island" chips in my holdempokerchips 36 chip sample.

Get a couple of TR Kings and see what you think. You might want to go in on the next custom run. Bound to be another one along in a month or two.

Hope that helps. Thanks also for sharing your impressions and experience with those (and other) chips.

I like the Modern Clays, based on quite a few samples I have.

The only thing I don't like is the inlay. I'd rather it didn't say "Poker" since we play Blackjack now and then. But that's not a big deal.

Since you say you don't care if the're custom... I love the chips myself. Dual edgespots are HOT. I passed on them because I'm a cheap bastard (nexgen) and I don't like the inlay. Lets face it, you'll spend more time looking at the gorgeous dual edgespots in people's stack than you will examining the label.

They are pretty good. You might also want to check out Nevada Jacks before you pull the trigger on the BPC.com's.

I just got a set of the Martini Club Clays from NevadaJacks, and i couldn't be happier. Lukestryke posted pictures of his set and I fell in love with the way these things look when stacked. I looked around quite a bit before buying, and these were the only nice looking chips that had dual edgespots. I would love to have made my own customs, but none of the custom makers will do dual edgespots due to security for their casino customers. Go check them out, they have a nice inlay, a great mold, and they're friggin awesome. They're made by Blue Chip Company (don't bother looking for a website, they don't have one) so they're good chips. The only downside to these little buggers is their price, at $1.25/chip they're pretty expensive, but i think they're worth it. Get yourself some samples and see what you think.

I've had some modern clay samples for awhile now and, while I like them well enough, they're a little too chalky and sharp for me. They do get a bit softer afer handling them for awhile but, for the money, they just don't impress me quite enough.

They're a good "medium" chip. But I just don't like medium. If I'm going to spend more than 75 cents a chip, I'll go a bit further and get a nice set of Paulsons. But that's just me. FWIW, I like the Nevada Jack clays- another good medium chip- more than the Modern Clays.

Of all the bluechip stock chips out there, I would probably go with the Nevada Jacks. They're made by the same company like the bond chips and grand island. It essentially boils down to which inlay and colors you like the most. You could also get customs made for an additional $150.

Blue chip does have some quality issues w/ off center inlays and other stuff. I like tr king chips most and am going in on the custom group by. tr king weighs closer to an actual casino chip. The Blue Chips are a bit light.

Get samples from:
tr king - www.trking.com
pokerchips.com
other blue chips.
