[ QUOTE ]
I wish Texas would secede. It bothers me that they have the same voting rights down there as we do in NY.

[/ QUOTE ]

Funny we think the same thing about you guys in NY...you elected Hillary Clinton after all. At least we didn't do anything that ignorant.

If nothing else, I look forward to what Jon Stewart will be saying about it tonight on the Daily Show.

[/ QUOTE ]

this is almost the only post in this thread that is worth reading - and the thread should die here. at least the daily show will take it with a grain of salt, get a chuckle at poorly chosen words...and move on.

I read this as they are poor, majority black people [blah blah blah]

[/ QUOTE ]
Reading a racial bias into her statement - well done.

[/ QUOTE ]

Last time I check the people being moved to the astrodome were poor and mostly black. I'm not alowed to post the truth? Maybe I'm taking this a little over the top but last week Pres Bush made a comment about how a friend had lost a house, but it wasn't so bad because he was going to rebuild it bigger and better.. all the time with a fat smile on his face.

The problem is you're implying that she's racist on top of everything else when she made no such implication herself.

i love how people can even be playing this off as "poorly chosen words".

it is a bitch, ignorant statement no matter how you look at it.

the fact some are playing it off as a mere poor-wording means they are either so clouded in their blind defense of all things republican, or they are equally as ignorant as the woman quoted.

Is her comment not true?

Seriously people, let's stop the whistle-blowing. The chance of getting hit by a bullet via drive-by in the dome is very slim.

The Dome is cool. I don't know about you, but I don't have an exploding scoreboard in my apartment. I don't have a retired Nolan Ryan banner in my apartment.

If these people find the Astrodome unaccommodating they can go back to their home.

Who Effin cares what Barbara Bush says anyway? She isn't in a position of power.

That would be like me getting huffy-puffy b/c Habib from the 7-11 said that "those people are all a bunch of worthless thief's anyway".

I defy anyone to paraphrase her quote and preserve the meaning without it being offensive
