Default 20/40 Room For Discussion...

How do you play this turn?

1.Fold
2.Call w/ intentions of calling a river bet
3.Raise for free showdown and fold value

UTG Limps in, I raise with KK

We see the flop headsup

flop is As Ts 3h
He bets into me I call

Turn is a blank
He bets into me...

Any info on villian? With no read just call down. If he's the type of player that wouldn't bet without an ace, obviously fold.

Raising the turn can't be right unless villian is horribleor extremely tight. So horrible that he'd keep betting with a flush draw or a ten, and will call the raise. That or he'd have to be so tight that he'll fold an Ace (even in vegas, good luck...).

Default line should be to just call it down. Note if you had something like JJ, a turn raise would be much more effective. while he won't fold an ace, he might fold QQ or KK. With you having KK, you're not getting him off of a better hand.

How can raising the turn possibily be correct? Seriously what are we hoping to gain? This is tough to answer without some kind of info on villian, but i'm pretty sure he's not folding a better hand to a turn raise. Hero has zero fold equity. UTG might be betting 2nd pair, but unless he's an idiot he won't call the turn raise with it. UTG might be betting a flush draw, in which case a turn raise for value certainly is the way to go. Honestly though, which do you think is more likely. I'd say there's a much better chance UTG has 2nd pair or an ace then there is he's got flush draw, and if thats true isn't letting him spew the better way to go?

This turn raise has zero fold equity in every game but the Mirage 20. I don't think it has much, but it has some.

I don't live there, but i've played in that game a lot, and know most of the regulars by name. I suppose this is image dependant, but I really don't see it happening.

I'd be much more in favor of it if hero had JJ...

3 is the best option IMO, although if you raise the flop and check behind the turn, you are more liley induce "value bets" from a T or PP.
