Default avi to dvd sw?

i got a bunch of LOST .avi's that would like to put onto a dvd and watch with the wife instead of huddling around a 19" lcd...

anyone have a good FREE tool? Nero won't play nice

I dont know the answer to your question, but where did you download shows from. I used to get torrents from some place I had bookmarked but last time I tried to get a show it was shut down.

wasnt happy with this one, i wound up with WinAVI which is a real nice piece of sw

There is a LOT of opensource software that will decode and re-encode any format to make available to be placed on DVD.

I personally use gordian-knot to do this, but if you look around there are tons of other software solutions for your problem that are free.
