Default Foxwoods World Poker Finals action thread

-Hung out mostly in the ballroom today. In there they had the $500+65 stud tourney, nonstop act 1/2s, an Act 3 in the evening, and various single-table satellites into WPT events. I tried a couple satellites into $500 events and didn't hit, but did well in the Act 1s I played, picking up a couple Act 2 tickets. The act 1 sats now start you with 2000 chips! And the structure is still kinda fast but not like it used to be.. it's not too bad. I think anybody here with solid SNG experience can do real well in these. The players of course can be pretty bad and now it is not a total crap shoot structure.

-James Woods sighting in the ballroom! He was playing some kind of satellite. He blends right in, I almost missed him. A dealer told me he's been playing sats there for three days now. Pretty cool.

-So I was sweating the Act 3 as it got down to the bubble. 12 left with 11 getting the $10k seat. There's a heads up pot that is checked to the river. Board is AATTx. One guy bets out, the other guy deliberates and asks 'you got the ace'? The floor immediately reprimands him and says there's 'no talking'. Talker is quite confused and says 'I can't ask a guy a question? Floor is just like 'nope'. WTF was going on here? Worst rule ever. I've never heard of that.

I was at the next table from him on Thursday. He didn't blend in at all. He was a friggin motor mouth. Didn't shut up for a minute and was giving out autographs to the players he knocked out. Not obnoxious though, I liked him.

Not so good. 1500 starting chips, and it goes 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, and then 150/300 with antes. 15 minute levels.

50 minute levels - not 15. And the blinds go 25/25, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, then 100/200 with antes etc.

He was asking about the Satellites for the $500 not the actual tournament. I think the structure is perfect for the Satellites, what do you want them to do have a 3 hour Satellite?

That is nothing.
I played in a Sat at a casino near me. 110$+5$ buy in.
Starting stack. 200 Thats right 200 effin chips. blind leves 5-10, 10-20, 25-50 50-100 etc. 15 min levels. it was over in blink. it was a complete crapshoot. if thats how most B&M sats are i wont ever go in one again.

This is a slight hijack but is there anything you have to do to get in the stands for the final table of the 10K main event? I'm considering driving down to watch it live as I've never been around anything like that and it might be fun but if I have to wait in a long line for hours or buy a ticket or something to get in its just not worth it to me.

A near-death in the omaha hi/lo tourney today. That was surreal. I don't know how he is now but the doctors apparently got him breathing and hauled him out of there.

He had a huge stack too. A damn shame..
