2 Hands from Party $109 - How\'s my line?
Can you guys check my line on these two hands, which occured back-to-back? I didn't have any strong reads on any of the players in the hand with me.
Thanks, BM Edit: I guess my main question with the first hand is whether or not you all would fold after the double all-in. For the second hand, assuming you felt very strongly that you were looking at something other than a pair bigger than 44, would you call the all-in? 1st Hand: NL Texas Hold'em $100 Buy-in + $9 Entry Fee Level:3 Blinds(25/50) Table Table 14660 (Real Money) Seat 10 is the button Total number of players : 7 Seat 2: N ( $905 ) Seat 6: K ( $1215 ) Seat 10: G ( $3622 ) Seat 5: P ( $1009 ) Seat 4: Hero ( $1685 ) Seat 9: D ( $699 ) Seat 7: R ( $865 ) Blinds(25/50) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to Hero [ Qh Ac ] P folds. Re: 2 Hands from Party $109 - How\'s my line?
Well in the first hand I could fold after that second guy came all-in. Against the lone original all-in I would probably have to call.
In the second hand I think that you can fold this because you at best a slight favorite. If you wanna play it then YOU need to push and not call. |

Re: 2 Hands from Party $109 - How\'s my line?
In the first hand, I figured I'd only need to win around 1/7.5 times or so to make it right. The flop WAS very ugly, though, and no flush draws on the board should have told me that one of the two all-ins had me beat.
Ace, would you have pushed the 44 into the BB? I get fairly skiddish about the all-in move with small PP in the SB, as it has bitten me in the ass many times. Would you ever consider folding the 44 here? |

Re: 2 Hands from Party $109 - How\'s my line?
Hand 1: I check the flop and expect a CB so I can come over the top. Leading out folds hands you're ahead of, and you're getting raised by hand you're beat by. With TPTK, just do the check-all-in and expect to be ahead. And yeah, your pot odds are too good.
Hand 2: Your complete sucks. Never complete in the SB with <10x BB. Either push or fold, and when you have a monster such as 44, you need to push it. |

[/ QUOTE ] I would probably complete hoping to see a favorable flop, then fold if raises out of the BB (although that's probably a leak of my own ). I don't hate folding or pushing here either. What I do notl ike is completing then calling an all-in. I'm sure most would advocate pushing prelfop into the BB. |

Re: 2 Hands from Party $109 - How\'s my line?
Well, the purpose of my lead bet on the flop was to find out where I stood with that dangerous flop. That was a mistake, though, as I wasn't able to lay it down anyway, as we saw.
You're right about the call on the 44. It was stupid, but I bit rattled by the previous hand. In my bout of anxiety, I forgot the golden push rule. |

Re: 2 Hands from Party $109 - How\'s my line?
Just wanted to emphasize how important it is that you push when the action gets to you in hand 2. You are giving up a lot of EV by folding against any BB calling range. Limp calling the allin is pretty bad. But there really isn't an alternative to pushing IMO.
I play it the same in hand 1 and call the allin because of the ridiculous odds. |
