For entertainment, watch the fountains of Bellagio for an hour or so.

The pirate ship fight at treasure island is cool too. And free.

For meals: I'm assuming you're going to be playing poker...Excalibur puts out a small buffet at dinnertime. Not sure of the hours, probably about 5-8 or so? You can eat for free. Nothing great, but it's ok. Imperial Palace usually has cookies/pastries during the day and small sandwiches at night. Imperial Palace also comps at the rate of $3/hour. It takes 24 hours to get the comps on your account, but you could play one day and eat the next. Their coffee shop (Tearoom, I think they call it) is pretty good. One step up from free--The Boardwalk has a little snack bar that is really pretty decent and very cheap. Ellis Island which is on Koval right behind the strip (sort of behind Ballys I believe) is definitely walking distance and has a really good steak dinner for $4.99. San Remo has a prime rib dinner that's fairly cheap and is supposed to be pretty good, but I haven't had it in years. If you're up late, most of the casino coffee shops have cheap night owl specials starting at 11:00 p.m.--Barbary Coast is a nice choice.

As for entertainment, not sure what you like, but I really like the free lounge act at the Boardwalk--a Prince impersonator--the band is called Purple Reign. All of the lounge acts are free, so you can just look around for the kind of music you like.

If you are truly looking for cheap food try the giant hot dogs at Slots-o-fun or Westward Ho. I think it is $1.49 or so for a 3/4 lb dog at Westward Ho. Huge gut bomb though. If you do eat it don't expect to play poker any time soon after. You will probably be lying in a gutter somewhere wondering how that alien got into your gut.

I didn't read throught the replies so forgive if this has been mentioned but I love to eat at Ellis Island. It's 1 block off the strip directly behind the MGM Grand. They have a steak dinner there for $5 that would be at least $12-15 elsewhere. They also have really cheap microbrews.

Lasvegasadvisor.com is where I found out about them. I got the 3 month subscription and they send you a coupon book. Most every coupon in it are well worth the subscription price.

go south past mandalay bay and go directly to the klondike. play 10c roullette, $2 blackjack, and some of the loosest slots...the drinks are fast and many. once youre trashed, let the fun begin. also on certain days they offer a free lunch
