Default Another Krazy Crazy Hand.. 10/20 NL

Another 10/20 hand..

A round later, I have about $4000 and limp utg with 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Guy next to me (solid player) raises it to to $100, MP calls, MP1 calls, Cutoff calls, Button calls, SB folds, BB calls, and I call. What a great game eh!?

Flop comes 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

BB checks, I check, Original raiser bets $100, MP (a somewhat loose pre-flop, but solid post flop player) raises to $500. MP2 a loose chaser calls $500. Cutoff folds, Button (same 30/60 Live player in the last hand now officially on tilt and steaming) shoves it all-in for $1500. BB folds.

Up to me, and I have $about $3900 or so.

What should I do?

Lawrence

i'd lay it down. with 4 other people in, i don't think you should call with your bottom ended straight. you can't really improve on it, and chances are among the 4 hands you're up against is at least one flush draw, a set, maybe even two pair or a pair with an open ended draw. the solid player probably has a top pocket pair. still, i don't really like calling in this situation because i'm assuming you're already up on the night, and would you really want to risk a good session on a non-nut straight where a lot of turn/river cards could take away your entire stack? (you didnt mention how much the other people have).

Fold. Why bother with this hand? Its guaranteed to cost you a big portion of your stack and worse yet, if someone has two pair and someone has a set, no matter how harmless the turn card looks it could sink you.

This is just horrible logic. Assuming he is not against a better straight he should call gladly. I lay it down, but for different reasons.

I've never played so high but I'm pretty certain I'd shove it allin.

Getting HU with the button would be great.

if one person had 97c and another person had 88, he's not against a better straight and he's definitely trailing going into the turn.

its very tough to put your opponent on exactly those two hands and fold for that reason. he could just as easily be up against two over pairs and wow look what a favorite he is:

Of course i dont put them on exactly these hands either, but it just shows that hes up against a range of hands, and he is ahead of the majority of this range. As for the play, i guess it depends on how much money the other players have whether i push or fold. I probably push though. You dont want to see the turn, as a club or the board pairing or even a 9 or a 5 falling, will make you throw up a little. Basically, you dont want to see the turn and face another bet. So get all the money in now or fold.

true, i don't think he's up against exactly 97c and 88 either. obviously there's an overpair in the mix but i'm pretty sure there's also at least a set and a good flush draw. i was just trying to show that he could have the best straight at the moment and still be a dog.
