Default This is how huge the WSOP has gotten, and poker in general.

1993 WSOP Main Event 6th Place 36,000
2005 WSOP Main Event 200th Place $39,075

This has got to be the fastest growing "sport" of all time.

For some reason i find this stat amazing.

1970 WSOP Main Event Buy-in - $10,000
2005 WSOP Main Event Buy-in - $10,000

For some reason I find this stat amazing.

Using the inflation calc in that link; $10K in '70 is the equivalent of just over $50K today.

How 'bout, "there were more entrants in the Main Event in 2005 that all entrants combined of the 1st 32 years."

Ya this is what I don't understand either.. When i was little and went to the dog track the price of bets were the same and the payoffs were the same, if not more. Back then you could hit a $2k Trifecta.
