Flopped a dream hand, but don\'t know how to play it??
How do I get more bets from this? I was hoping some donk would raise huge or move all in because there were so many players on the flop but this table is tight like a virgin. How should I have played this?

Just call the turn. Leading the river is your call--I'd probably check to them.

Re: Flopped a dream hand, but don\'t know how to play it??
I prolly lead out on the flop, only because there are a lot of players in the hand and someone has an ace - and it greatly disguises the strength of your hand. Given that you slowplayed it, I think calling the turn raise woulda been better, even check the river if you are confident one of them will bet again.

Re: Flopped a dream hand, but don\'t know how to play it??
With the A on board and all those limpers I just bet out on the flop. At least 1 of them is bound to have an A and give you some action.
On the turn, I smoothcall the reraise. You want to get an overcall if possible from the initial bettor and a reraise will be very scary to the raiser as well unless he was unfortunate enough to turn a boat. |

Ya I'm still kicking myself over the hand. If I bet out first, it would disguise my flopped nuts.
I definately should have just smooth called that turn. Dammit. The tourney is still going on right now and I hope that mistake doesn't cost me a placing ITM. |

Re: Flopped a dream hand, but don\'t know how to play it??
I think the flop check is good, considering I check most aces here too. In the BB, there's no reason to announce you have an ace just yet. I lead turn, and plan to 3-bet over a reraise... This is also what I do with aces, for the most part.

Re: Flopped a dream hand, but don\'t know how to play it??
I just call on the turn. OR i might make a minor bet to make it seem like I have nothing and since no one has bet I'll "take a stab" at winning the pot cheap. I might make a minimum bet but that would really depend on my sense of the table and the players in the hand. As a general rule I'll check and if there's a bet I'll call.
Also, I'll try and check as fast as possible. Almost like I have it set to "Check/Fold to any bet". After the guy after me bets I'll wait like 10 or 15 seconds to make it seem like I really have to think about whether or not I want to call. Try and get him to think that I have a nice drawing hand but don't have any hand as of yet. |
