Default Chicago White Sox vs. Chiba Lotte Marines

ESPN Commentary

What do you think about a "world championship" contested between the World Series winner and at least the Jampanese league champions?

How about additional nations?

[b]Edit: the poll question should read "Would you like to see a "world championship" between the World Series winner and the Japanese league champions?"

if any other nations that have strong club baseball, then I'd be all for more then just the MLB winner vs the Japan League winner. I really would like to see this though. I think that it could generate a lot of money and promote baseball even more

I would only like to see this because it is the Sox. If it were the Astros I could care less.

I would love to see it, and I think most fans would, really. The hard part would be convincing the players to agree to something like this.

Sure, it would be interesting. Too many problems to overcome though.

Where would they play?

Same as a regular best-of-7. 2-3-2 home/road/home. Use some random or alternating way to determine home field advantage.

I don't have any evidence to suggest that the any team but the winner of the MLB World Series is the world's best baseball team. Not needed IMO and I probably would see it only as a novalty.

How many travel days for all the jet lag? If it's after the WS it's going to be pretty cold in most cities.

That's what NFL fans thought about the winner of their championship games. Then Super Bowl III and IV happened.
