I've PMed you his telephone number. He only accepts calls from 11am to 7pm, Pacific Time, and all phone calls are limited to a maximum of five minutes and must be made from a payphone ONLY. He will answer the phone by saying "Who's the Man?" - you are to immediately reply "Action Dan!"

Failure to follow this protocol strictly will result in immediate termination of the call and no further correspondence in any form.

i respect him and all for his achievements, but he is a bit behind in the charisma department.

I met him at foxwoods last year, and we happened to walk down same hallway towards poker room at same time. being right next to him, i just started to talk to him a bit, and asked him how he was doing in the PPT event.

Lets just say he appeared rather standoffish. Never said anything back to me beyond a yes or "uh". And i wasnt pestering him, just said a couple of friendly words since we were walking same way anyways. Ended up being really awkward.

Maybe he had a bad day, but for being such a public poker figure and book publisher (both of which i bought) i thought he may have been a bit more people savvy.

He was standoffish to some stranger. What a jerk. When strangers approach me I invite them home for scones and tea.

Some people just don't like the media attention, I'm not a total tosser but I'd be a little shy at suddenly being famous too...

No one deals with fans the way Greg Raymer does, he's the business...

hey i know i wouldnt like strangers just coming up to me all the time having to engage in cenversation with them.

But this wasnt something where i approached him or in any wa inconvinienced him. It was as if you sat down at a poker table and gave a polite hello to the guy sitting next to you or just answered a polite question from them.

Who said you inconvenienced him? Some people are introverted. Why is that so difficult to understand?

And this is nothing like being at the same table. When you are at a table with someone, particularly in a tournament, there is an expectation that you will be in close company for some decent length of time. Additionally there is at least some minor expectation of banter at the table. The situation you describe is of two people who don't know each other walking in the same direction in a casino.
