Also, sometimes I wonder if betting a weird amount looks more menacing because of all of the extra colored chips and piles that appears. $25 is just one green chip. But a $24.69 bet is a whole lotta colorful chips!

I think people are more likely to fold to $25 bets and $100 bets because that one big chip looks like you mean business. When you 'bet pot' or whatever it looks like it could be a bluff. I always bet 122 or something when I want a call.

Last night I called with a nut flush + set draw vs. the obvious straight. He was hitting the bet pot button like it was dispensing Pez candies.

Wasn't happy when the boat hit the river. BoDog's chat filter cleaned up too much or I could have understood his insults

For what it's worth, I think I only make a wierd bet on the river when I'm value betting. I think it sparks their curiosity a little more. For this reason, I usually fold to these bets in borderline situations, but it's not a huge factor.

I've also found a long pause followed by a pot-sized bet on the river also peaks my opponent's curiosity. Perhaps it's just a coincidence.

oops, I missed this line:

GamecockAl: Hatchet - played in 2 WSOP O/8 tournament but if you think I have a few things to lesson then PLEASE teach me LOL

then:

Hatchet01: what does playing a tournament have to
do with actually being able to play the game well,
those are fixed limit tournaments as well.
GamecockAl: I played PL fool
GamecockAl: and have played high B&M games but
it doesn;t matter to you I guess

I know all the O8 tournaments now are fixed limit and the ones he played were in the 90's, anyone know if the wsop O8 tournaments really were PL at one time?

You really think so? I get more mileage out of insulting somebody after I take their money

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree. When you piss em off, they often target you. I've had players play EVERY hand I'm in because they can't resist the opportunity to get you back.

I don't usually lash out unsolicited but if someone curses me for taking their money, I'll stoke that fire.
