How\'s the 3/6 games in Biloxi???
I going there on the 27th...I know both the Grands spread this...any others in the area?
What's the tourist/local ratio in these games? Is the competition decent? Any and all advice, observations, suggestions appreciated. |

Grand in Biloxi and Gulfport, President(Silver Slipper), and Copa are your options unless you stay till July. New room opens July 1st at Palace. Dont waiste your time at Copa or President, just play the Grands. |

Re: How\'s the 3/6 games in Biloxi???
Then I was misinformed by the poker room manager at the President...I called last week to see what they had available, and she informed me that they did spread a 3/6 game at both the Grands...
So the 1-4-4-8 game is the lowest limit spread? I understand its essentially a 4/8 game...How's the competition there? And a couple of other questions: Where do you purchase your chips? Is there a runner? Whats the standard tip for the dealers and waitresses? Is it busy during the week? Again, any and all info appreciated... |

As always, anyone who wants to update PokerWiki with this info will have my gratitude. See http://poker.wikicities.com/wiki/Casino#Mississippi , but right now there's nothing there on the MS rooms.

Re: How\'s the 3/6 games in Biloxi???
Went a month ago on a Sun. Mon. and Tue. to the Grand. No 3/6 game had 1-4-8-8 game, 10/20, and if I recall a 20/40. Seems like half the people at my table knew each other, and there were alot of young people 21-25. Game was somewhat loose 4-5 to the flop. Great jackpot type thing after 1 a.m. if pocket A's gets cracked you get $100!!

Re: How\'s the 3/6 games in Biloxi???
Grand Biloxi has chip runners and make sure you get a food comp before you leave the room (back right corner by the office). The tables are full of locals and the 10/20 and 15/30 games are usually filled with old timers that play with each other every single day. 1-4-8-8 game is where the newbies and young people play, but be aware of the old regulars who play and call just about every hand. I like the 6/12 game and the 10/20. 1-4-8-8 can be brutal with 5-6 callers on any given hand and a preflop raise is just to build the pot. You will not run off anyone with pre flop raises. All in all Biloxi is the biggest and best room.

Re: How\'s the 3/6 games in Biloxi???
Thanks Creole
So I take it that they would have runners at the Grand Gulfport as well...Im sorta in between the two (close to the airforce base?) Staying at the Ramada...I actually believe that the closest casino to where I'm staying is the President... What's the general rule on tipping the dealer? At the end of one's session, or $1 for every pot you win? Thanks |

Most dealers are not greedy and wont mind if you wait till big pots to pay them off. But some give you the evil eye if you forget them. They have chip runners or you can go up to desk and carry your own rack like I do Or you can just bring in chips from lower level casino. Chips are all the same thru out the building. Place is pretty full on weekends but wait will never be over 15min, unless you play 10/20NL If you see a young guy wearing glasses it might be me(NOT sunglasses!) |
