Default I HATE my roomate

He talked me into a bad river play...
5/10 NL on Party, 6-max. Villain is reasonable TAG. Button is unknown. Effective stacks $1200.
Hero is in BB w/J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG Folds, Villain limps in UTG+1, 1 fold, Button limps, Sb completes, Hero checks.
Flop ($40):
7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Checked around to button who bets 30. Hero calls, folded to villain who calls.
Turn (130): T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Hero checks, Villain bets $100, Button folds, Hero raises to $350, Villain calls.
River (830): 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Hero...?

Raise the turn more, more natural getting all in on River. As it is, he'll prob call 400 with lesser straight.

Since you posted it, i'm assuming he had flush, but with turn bet, you wouldnt expect it unless he had made straight and flush draw? oh well.

I would lead the turn. That way if he has a straight and raises, you get it all in there. You also don't run the risk of giving a free card to the draws. If he flat calls, it makes a check/call on the river a whole lot easier if the board pairs or the flush gets there.

I don't like the turn check raise, so if your roomate is anything like my friends, he was screaming in your ear, "SLOW PLAY!". You've just got to block them out. Block out the voices I tell you!

if he is a reasonable tag, then i dont see him calling your turn raise with anything less than AJ [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], so i like the a push on the river.

Will villian call a push with just a J? If the answer is yes than i like pushing. If the answer is no, than how bout a check-call....Villian will probably put you on a J when you check the river and might push to try to move you off the same hand. The flush card absolutely sucks but i can't see you getting off your hand no matter what. If you make a blocking bet, you are pot commited. If you check and he pushes i think it's too likely that he's just trying to push you off a J for you to let this one go. Of course i guess this is somewhat dependent on how aggressive the villian is.

And i do agree with the others.....raise more on the turn.
