TT in LP, How to play the Overpair vs PFRer in front of you?
1st hand of a $50+5 10-person STT and I am on the button w/ TT. Starting chips are 2000 and blinds are 15/30. Folded to MP who makes a big (7x) raise to 210. Folded to me. I elect to just call.
The pot is now 485. Flop is 743 with 2 hearts. MP overbets the pot betting 510. What is my play ATF? Also, would you have raised or called PF? |

I think you should have folded preflop, first hand, it's not worth getting into a fight with tens.

Re: TT in LP, How to play the Overpair vs PFRer in front of you?
What do you know about villain? Can he make a raise like this with AQ/AK? If so, then calling the flop is ok (but I wouldn't do it). Then you have to push the flop. My guess is he will likely still call your allin bet, even with AK. So you have to catch some luck on the turn & river.
It's early in the tourney. Fold preflop though. Scuba |

[quote
Al]so, would you have raised or called PF? [/ QUOTE ] i'll take option c: fold pf tt is not a strong hand in early levels...pretty much limp in (maybe call min raise) or fold...don't raise and don't call decent size raises |

Anybody call and play for set value?
Sure you are like 7.5:1 against, but you are only calling 210 and you could get paid almost 10:1 if you hit. Plus, you do have position on the guy - in case he wiffs with AK/AQ.
Anybody? |

Re: Anybody call and play for set value?
Well the corollary of calling for set value here is the same as calling a 1st level bet of 105 in a Party tourney with 1000 chips. I don't like it at all and I think it's a good way to bleed chips. I fold there (in a Party SNG) too unless I have a strong read that this type of big raise means AK.
