Default 2 pair, fold the turn?

I always seem to hang onto these hands too long. What should i have done with it? No reads

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO calls, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (5 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO folds, SB folds.

Turn: (4 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, MP1 raises, MP2 folds, Hero calls.

I figure im prob only behind to 76

River: (8 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 10 BB

You can very well be behind 67, 89, or 88. Reads would be helpful to see if your opponent would have open-limped with 88 or 99 fron MP2. Its probably just as likely that your opponent is on a spade draw with 1 pair and possibly a gutshot. I'd say 50/50 between drawing dead to 3 outs (discount 1 if opponent is on 89) or you are ahead but opponent is drawing to 10 outs.

It is certainly worth calling one on the turn since you are getting 7-1. If a spade comes I fold the river, otherwise I check call like you did.

Edited to say: I would think that if MP2 flopped the straight, he would have raised the flop to try and protect it with 2 spades out there. Same goes for 89 and the set. Again, a read on postflop aggression would have been helpful.
