Re: MGM Grand Spreading H .O.R.S.E. During WSOP...
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Yes, the first strip casino to offer a low limit H.O.R.S.E. game, to my knowledge... Beginning Thursday night, and pretty much throughout the WSOP, anyone interested in playing $2-$4 H.O.R.S.E., the MGM has been spreading the game. This is also good news for the "Magoos", or whoever may have been worried about the capabilities of MGM dealers making it through a 1/2 hour down on those kind of mixed games. Everything seemed to be fine the last couple of nights. Just go into the poker room and let them know you are interested in starting up a game (if 1 isn't running already) and I'm sure they'll accomodate... Thursday's game went from about 8pm til 3am before it broke, and Fridays game was from 9pm until about 430am... [/ QUOTE ] OMG. This thread is giving me wood. I am so playing in this game next week. Please tell me that Razz/Stud/Stud8 all have some sort of ante. [/ QUOTE ] Initially, we played 2-4 HORSE with a $1 ante and a $2 completion. That was bad, so by the second day we had the stakes up to 3/6, and brought $20 worth of 50 cent pieces to the table for people to buy to use as antes for the stud and razz rounds. That worked really well... .50 ante, $1 bring in, and $3 to complete. $3 betting on 4th street, and $6 every street thereafter. Razz, O/8, and Stud/8 dominated the games when it was dealer choice (either every dealer down, or once per orbit), though sometimes the games did run straight HORSE (in that order, changing every down). Next time I go to Vegas, I will absolutely try to get a larger stakes HORSE game going at MGM... perhaps 5/10 with a kill or something along those lines. |

Re: MGM Grand Spreading H .O.R.S.E. During WSOP...
I was at the MGM last week on my first Vegas trip playing 1/2 NL HE. Wow, I had a GREAT time. Dealers were good, room is really spacious, waits were short and action is good. I tried other rooms but just kept coming back to MGM. (Helped that i was catching cards too!). Everything is set up perfectly and i will be telling all my poker friends back here in London to make their way there.
BUT will second third and fourth the need for a new track at Centrifuge! It really grinds, especially when you cant SEE the girls from the room... |

MGM is rigged, I flopped quads there Friday night. That only happens on the internet.
Great room. |

You had two guys move all in before it was on you w/quad 6's, right? At a 1-2 NL table just behind the cashier's desk? I was the guy who got his set of 5's cracked on the turn by AA's two outer my first hand at the table. Good playing with ya... |

[/ QUOTE ] This is why I think the MGM is one of the better rooms in the city, let alone the whole country: because if a bunch of players come up and say they want to play $2-$4 HORSE, damnit, they'll spread $2-$4 HORSE. If there are a bunch of people that come up and want to play A-5 w/ a joker, they'll spread A-5 w/ a joker! (As long as 1 dealer in the house knows how to deal it...) Some of these other casinos would be pricks about starting a game like that, even with the interest...and I know that for a fact... |

Serious players need outlets from constant hold'em, and live HORSE is a great remedy! |
